Your Online Poker Face

David Walker asked:

If you play online in the same poker room, under the same poker name you will probably at some point meet players that remember you. If you have taken good notes when you play, you will remember how they play. These players probably have some notes on you.

Some people who play online do not buy into the “online poker face” belief. However, “the online poker face” exists. The trick is learning to decide which poker face you will use for the day. If you feel like you are not very good at this, then switch rooms frequently and play at different times of the day. If you are “readable” then you are “beatable” and ome of the more “telling” signs are discussed here.

If you notice a player that is only playing the top hands, it is safe to say he or she is a “tight player”. You will also be able to determine the “loose” player who will inevitably show some weaker hands at the end of the hand after raising the pot before the flop. Don’t be that player. It’s alright to occasionally show some weaker hands at the end of the pot, but not after a ridiculous raise before the flop.

Another sign some of the more skilled online players will note is how quickly a player will bet. It is a sign of skill if you wait a moment before betting. It’s perceived as weakness if you auto-check or auto-fold. Think about your next move and think about the poker face you want the other players to see.

Another good rule of thumb is to mix it up a bit. Be aggressive when you may not need to be but can afford to do so, then “limp” into the pot with A-A and take your opponents for all they are worth!

A Beginner’s Guide To Texas Holdem Strategies

David Walker asked:

If you are going to learn to play poker, then you must learn to play Texas Hold’em. Before you jump right into a game, take a moment and study the following tips:

1. First, before you step into the world of an online Texas Hold’em poker room, decide what you feel comfortable wagering. Never put more money into your online account than you can comfortably afford to lose.

2. Don’t ever get into the habit of chasing loses. If you do, you’ll inevitably find yourself making bad plays, such as calling or raising when you should fold.

3. Play small tournaments or ring games before you jump into the larger tournaments. Players with a lot more experience than a beginner will dominate in these games. They read players well and can quickly determine what the best possible hand is.

4. Take notes on other players when you’re playing. You will have plenty of time to do this as many players take their time in making proper play decisions. It’s smart to take notes on the other players every time you play because you are likely to come across them again in another tournament. Use what you have learned about them, against them.

5. Practice reading the flop, the turn, and the river. Know what the best possible hands are at any given time.

6. Do not play loose poker online. Your bluff will be called.

7. For the most part, while learning to play online Texas Hold’em, play the top ten starting hands, and play a tight game of poker.

8. Avoid playing multiple games at a time, your better players don’t do it and you shouldn’t either.

Above all else, have fun and learn how to play your hands by watching other players in tournament play. If players show their cards at the end of the hand, make quick notes and try to learn their betting patterns.

With the advent of online casinos proliferating on the net these days, it would not be a surprise that a lot of people will come across the sit and go strategy. This is implemented in an online poker consisting of 9 players where a tournament takes place and only 3 players has the chance to win the big pot of money.

There have been a lot of e-books promising to share strategies in playing poker but only few have been true to what they attest. To play poker sit and go strategy, you have to master a single table first before venturing into another table and later on to multi-tabling.

This kind of game allows a player to start playing with more than one sit and go at a time. However, before embarking on this kind of strategy, you have to know the dealings and master the whole strategy so as not to encounter any loss on your part.

One of the best ones to employ this strategy is through the full tilt poker. This is a kind of poker game where you get to have the same equal amount you deposit. This means to say that you are able to get a bonus of almost a 100% that can be a further addition to your bank account.

Poker is a game of strategy therefore, if you opt to play for a few bucks sit n go’s you will not only gain cash but also be able to practice the advantage of the sit and go strategy.

There are many SitnGo strategy poker guides online that can provide a further insight on how to play as well as advanced poker strategies. If you are interested, you can also visit popular poker forums and learn what are the best sit and go strategies. But ultimately, a lot of it comes down to experience and practice.
